Most mechanical failures are not manufacturing failures. They are design decisions that only reveal themselves at volume, at temperature, or after the tenth use cycle.RD8 is a mechanical engineering house built around Robust Design: kinematics and interfaces, tolerances and variation management. We quantify how a design will actually behave — before the tooling is cut, before the first unit ships, before the failure report arrives.

We do not need to know what your system is for in order to make it work.

The reliability bar is not new. We come from where it was set.

Defence is being asked to do something a handful of industries have already done: move at speed without loosening the reliability requirement. That is where RD8 has spent the last decade.

Drug delivery and medical devices

A device that misfires is a patient harm event before it is an engineering problem. Every tolerance decision has to be quantified, documented and defensible to a regulator — and it has to happen fast, because launch windows do not move. Speed and reliability are not traded against each other here. Both are mandatory.

Something works in the lab and fails in the field. We diagnose the root cause, quantify it, and implement the fix — in the design, not in an assembly line workaround.
