Master Robust Design with RD8 Academy.
This Onboarding Program lays the groundwork for Robust Design Principles and using the RD8 platform for the analysis, preparing learners to start their Robust Design journey and application.
The course covers initial Robust Design introduction, training, hands-on support, and post-onboarding review to ensure seamless software adoption.
Course Information
Prerequisites: Solid understanding and practical experience with mechanical design engineering
Location: The Onboarding Program can be delivered effectively online, on-site or hybrid.
Duration: approx. 30 days
To gain the full effect of the onboarding process, engineers are recommended/expected to allocate at least 20 hours (5-8 hours per week ) —in addition to training sessions— to follow the fast and steep learning curve, to gain confidence by practicing, and to start getting results on the robust design analysis.
People: You will have an assigned RD8 Customer Success Manager, who is an experienced Robust Design consultant, with specialized skills in Robust Design, Software and training, as well as a Specialised Trainer and Sales Manager for effective learning and comprehensive support.

Establish initial contact, build trust, mutual understanding of the case, skills and organizational needs.
Walk through the essential 5 steps in the Onboarding program.
Align on NDA agreements (if relevant)
Plan and Manage Expectations

Purpose:
Clarifying objectives, settling training day(s) and hyper care dates and prepare for maximum success.
Training days
Participants:
- RD8 CS Manager & RD8 Trainer
- Customer Leads & Customer Engineering Team
Purpose:
Receive hands-on training, introduce key functionalities, practice on your own CAD cases and equipping the team with the necessary skills to use the software.
Your team will be provided with the Complete Playbook for Robust Design + The RD8 Platform as preparation for training.
Hyper Care
Participants:
- RD8 CS Manager
- Customer Leads & (part of) Customer Engineering Team
Purpose:
Practical and dedicated support during the initial learning phase (4 weeks), address early challenges, and provide real-time assistance for smooth and effective Robust Design adoption, including feedback on your own CAD designs, platform tips & tricks, best practice and product advice.
Post Onboarding Review
Participants:
- RD8 CS Manager & RD8 Sales Manager
- Customer Lead(s)
Purpose:
Review the onboarding experience, address any remaining concerns, discuss future engagement, and ensure that your team is set up for long-term success.
